WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO A MISTREATED LIPO AND HOW TO BUILD A BUNKER?
TEACHER NOTE: The following lesson is designed to teach the students the LiPo Battery and its use in the curriculum aircraft.
- Using LiPo Safety under FT-Teacher Hangar Resources, have the students watch the LiPo Battery Bunker episode
- Afterwards, discuss with the students the importance of LiPo safety, especially creating a safe charging and storing environment for batteries.
TEACHER NOTE: Please make sure to set strict safety guidelines for Lipo battery use and have the proper equipment available for safe charging and storage.
- Create a LiPo bunker.
- Review how to charge the batteries and how to store the batteries, and enforce rules and consequences if the bunker is not maintained.
- Having a well-functioning battery storing and charging system in place can make or break the program.
